Kate and Mike both had a busy last day at work, and finished up around 3pm, and headed home to Kirrawee after drinkies with NPWS Staff.
Nanny was there getting the kids showered and dressed. Sue & Dom arrived and we headed off to Sydney International Airport at 6.30pm, in heavy rain.
Checked in OK and met up with Tim, David Westall, and Scott Walker. Exchanged gift money for the kids into Euros, and settled for some drinks at a bar. Jess and Jake had McDonalds.
Tim and Dave left; The kids were getting excited to get through security, so we said goodbye at the immigration gate at 9pm, no tears. Looked back down the long tunnel to see Dom, Sue, Nanny & Scott all waving like maddies!
Went to the Qantas Club lounge, then boarded QF31 around 10pm. We took off about 10.45pm. Kate got a bit teary as we watched Sydney disappear below. The reality that we were on our way finally started to hit!
